On September 24, 2007, me, my husband, two year old and ten year old children flew from Las Vegas to Dallas Love Field on Flight 1791. While we were checking our baggage, a Southwest attendant stated that we had to check my son's carry on bag. We had carried it on our previous flight but for some unknown reason she was demanding we check it. I explained to her there was a PSP case inside with the PSP player and games and movies. She said it would be fine but we had to check it. When we returned home that evening, I unpacked the bag and found the case was in the bag but the PSP player and games and movies were gone plus they had broken the case too. I contacted SW airlines asap and they sent me to Central Baggage at Dallas Love Field. I spoke to the rudest person to work in a customer service field with the Central Baggage Department. Her name was Connie. She told me that it was my responsibility and I could not prove that a SW airlines employee had stolen the property. I explained to her that I was ordered to check the bags and I would have never thought that someone would have stolen the items but if they did then it would be SW responsibility. I explained the items belonged to my son and he was extremely upset but she said it was not her issue but that it was my responsibility. I told her to replace the items would be $700 and she told me it "was silly to have a child with equipment that cost that much." She did not offer to file any complaints for me or too offer any type of compensation. Not only did we lose $700 worth of equipment for my son but they had the worst attitude even though it was a Southwest employee that stole the items. They are not a customer service company and they employee thieves.
