What : Theft
On November 30, 2007 at around 5:00 pm I put my wallet into a safe deposit box behind the desk at Guest Relations assuming that it would be secure since there were no safes in the room. I had one credit card and two bank cards in my wallet, a driver’s license, a AAA card and $160 in cash. My wallet was placed into an unlocked metal box and taken behind a closed door, presumably into the safe. However, I never saw the box go into the safe. When I retrieved my wallet the next morning on December 1, $60 in cash was missing. Again, I did not see the box come out of the safe as again, the door was shut. At some point from the time I put the wallet into Guest Relation’s trust until the time I took it out, $60 was taken out of my wallet. I filed a complaint on board with security. Then, when checking out with Guest Services, my credit card mysteriously would not go through and I had to stand in a very long line while everybody else disembarked. I later called up my credit card company and found that the wrong expiration date for the card had been entered. Retribution for reporting the theft? I filed a formal complaint with Royal Carribean when I returned. It will be a long time before I ever go on a cruise ship again. The entire operation is shady.
