Stansted to Salzburg, 8 Aug. Plane took off, flew for 20 mins, then pilot announced minor technical problem and plane would return to Stansted. He said we would transfer to a standby plane and be off again to Salzburg in 30-40 mins. Most believed him. On the ground the chief stewardess said there was no second plane and we should collect our luggage and the Ryanair desk would help us with hotels and transportation. Most did not believe her. Total chaos, no information, no Ryanair presence, no extra plan to take us next day, no help with accommodation that night. Those who had to fly waited in line for over an hour and were squeezed on scheduled flights over next few days. Ryanair could not have done less to help us.
